ST. GEORGE

Irony. Yes... ...irony. We decided to escape the Salt Lake Valley to drive down to St. George, Utah to try to have some fun and enjoy the Southern Utah warm weather. The irony of this is that this weekend it is warmer in the Salt Lake Valley than it is in Southern Utah. We know this now because we've seen and felt the snow in Cedar City, hiked Emerald Pools at Zions National Park in 52 degrees Fahrenheit weather, hiked Red Cliffs with a chilly overcast, and am now in the hotel versus swimming in the pool/hot tub.

Now that you know how this weekend kinda sucked, here's the highlights.
We had probably the fastest drive down here ever, with the kids being really good and sleeping a good portion of the way. We got to come to such a beautiful place in Southern Utah, Saint George. We had two motivated hikers/kids and hiked into Red Cliffs to the exact spot where I asked Melissa to marry me. We hung out with Brandon, Char, and Mason while eating the best bread sticks... ... ever (The Pizza Factory). We fed crazy ducks that like to mug you for your "day old bread".We hiked Emerald Pools in Zion National Park and our kids were troopers about the mud, snow, cold, and difficulty, but had the best time. Overall, this has been one of the greatest trips ever. Being with these two cute kids and my wife made it all worth it, and we still gotta visit Grams and Poppi, Mark, Laura and Erik, Chad and Lisa, and Grams Boshell.
